BM4841601: 484-1601 Nakamura AXIS, KnifeCenter Exclusive
The Nakamura is a beautiful gentleman's tactical folder and one we think so highly of at the KnifeCenter, we had to bring in an exclusive of our own. At just under four inches closed, it is very comfortable in the pocket. The M390 stainless steel coupled with AXIS lock functionality and contoured stabilized wood handles with stainless liners, makes this a top US-made folder in our book! A unique tool steel, M390 is an Austrian powdered steel with a uniform micro-structure that provides superior levels of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance, making this steel one of the most well-rounded premium steels in the world. The contoured stabilized wood handles are extremely ergonomic and the grooves lock your fingers in for a superb grip. It offers great looks with the addition of the orange barrel spacers/pivot rings and is exceptionally strong for its minimal weight. The 484-1601 Nakamura AXIS by Benchmade Knives brings the best of both worlds to the KnifeCenter: detailed design and functional strength.

Observe in person first
If it's possible, you're better off handling the knife YOU THINK YOU WANT in person before you decide to buy it. This isn't always the case but, I was able to hold one of these recently. The steel was dull, and also lacked luster. The handle was nice but that was about it. It didn't feel right in your hand. I'm still a bit skeptical of the axis lock system compared to a proven opposite which is the lockback. To me it just doesn't feel as secure when it's under pressure. There are better Benchmade's than this for less money.

Pros: Ease of Opening, Lock Ease of Use, None
Cons: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Pocket Clip
Not Impressed
Hard to sharpen, I have owned several benchmades, but this will be the last one... It is a solid knife, and the action on it works smooth, but the steel is harder than petrified wood pecker lips. No need for me to write a novel, and for whoever purchases this knife I hope you have a good solid bench sharpener and not a hand held.
