BO02BO009: BugOut
Boker Plus
A compact all-arounder for all occasions, the Boker Plus BugOut by Steve Kelly from Montana is incredibly versatile. As a neck knife or compact belt knife, the slimline BugOut offers a secure grip and a sturdy, versatile tanto blade. The handle features G10 scales in coyote, and the D2 tool steel blade boasts a stonewashed finish. Includes a Kydex sheath and ball chain.

D2 Tool Steel

With a chromium content of 12%, D2 — a tool steel — can certainly be classified as a stainless steel. Since its chromium content is right on the threshold, however, a little more care for the D2 wouldn't go amiss. As an upper-tier conventional steel, D2 offers great edge retention and stability, though sharpening it takes a little effort.

Solid value all ‘rounder
Mine came nearly shaving sharp. G10 scales are pretty nicely machined. Stonewash finish looks good. I like the less-obnoxious tanto profile, it’s a useful shape without being too over-the-top. The sheath is pretty thin kydex but tightness/retention seems adequate for inverted/neck carry. There’s a very light click when the knife is inserted. I’ll probably err on the side of caution as the knife has some weight for a little guy. I think it’d make a better pack/jacket pocket piece than a neck knife. There are enough rivets/holes where you could add a loop for horizontal belt carry. All in all a pretty good value in a decent steel.
