CAMUMRSTDPBK: Redencion Street Drop Point Folding Knife, Black Canvas Micarta
Chaves Ultramar

Chaves Ultramar knives from Ramon Chavez are manufactured in China by Reate Knives aimed to bring his amazing knives to a wider audience base. There are a variety of different models including a production Street version of his famous Redencion knife that is iconic in the knife world. Each features his signature titanium skull pocket clip, an inlaid titanium presentation scale, a replaceable lockbar insert, and a black PVD stonewashed CPM-S35VN blade. They are perfect for everyday carry and Reate has managed to recreate Ramon's incredible action perfectly so they flip just like the real thing!

This Redencion Street is on par with the Chaves American Made 228 in terms of fit and finish...well everything but size. This is the shrunk down Redencion model that is designed for everyday carry and it might just be the perfect knife. It gets the size absolutely spot on and the flipping action using either of the dual thumb studs and either your thumb or middle finger is rocketship fast. The classic compound drop point blade is paired with a squared off blasted titanium handle with a canvas Micarta inlay on the presentation scale. The frame lock features a replaceable lockbar insert and the knife is complete with a partial titanium backspacer. If Ramon Chavez has been on your wish list for a while but remains outside your price point, then check out a Chaves Ultramar. For the money, there isn't a better mid-tech type production knife that we can think of.

Detent issue
Hey man; I’ve run into the same issue with over tightened detention on a couple of my blades. Medford like Chavez have a “star bit” adjustment pattern, so if you get yourself a small pack of “star patterned” bits you’ll be able to adjust the detent strength. Good luck

Holly detent
I have to give this a 3 star rating because of the detent. Im 90% sure it's just mine because every YouTuber I see review this raves about its awesome action. My detent is so strong I nearly have to use my free hand to open it. Whats worse is the customer service of knife center. After explaining the issue to the woman, she claimed I just wasn't doing it right. And told me I could return it but because there is nothing wrong with it she couldn't provide a shipping label. I near ripped my nail off trying to middle finger flick this knife. You would think for a 300.00 dollar knife they could send a shipping label and try it out for themselves,. Possibly send me one with better action. The knife is a beauty but horrible action on my specific knife.
