CR2035: 2035 Crawford Acquisition
CRKT

This is the one you'll want by your side if mud, blood, and weather lie in your path.

Bring along the Acquisition tactical knife, and you'll acquire much more than a dependable everyday carry. It's covert enough to keep on your person when things get scrappy and beefy enough to mow over backcountry business.

Pat Crawford of West Memphis, Arkansas notoriously designs knives with self-defense in mind, and this ominous-looking modified drop point blade is no exception. The handle design gives you maximum control and 3 inches plus of black powder coated steel is good for on mission or in the field.

Tough glass reinforced nylon (GRN) handles help maintain a confident grip even when you're elbow-deep in mud or blood while the sleek, gear compatible sheath keeps it poised for grabbing at a moment's notice.

The Acquisition fixed blade is a knife built to have your back everywhere from the backwoods to the back alleys.

Son of Companion...
If you remember the Polkowski/Kasper Companion CRKT put out about a decade ago, you will see much that is familiar: A Persian inspired profile with a good point. Excellent choil and hooked pommel to lock your hand in. Crawford Knives had collaborated with Bob Kasper before he was lost to us. You can definitely see the fusion of influences in the Acquisition. The pommel is exposed so it could be used for striking in a pinch Much like the Crawford/ Kasper Dragon.. Jimping to help orient the blade. I could live without the little holes in the blade, and the jimping too for that matter. I miss the Companion's palm swell in the grip. However, the Acquisition fits my hand fine, and works great in the forward and reverse natural grips as well as the sabre grip. It points admirably, and this quality is the clue that points to its combative heritage. The Companion was designed to be a fighter that had good utility qualities, and the Acquisition is no different in that regard. It is slim, light, points beautifully and locks into the hand very well. The steel is decent and helps keep the cost down. The sheath is decent, and the belt hook will work. It is not the best, but that seems to be the weak point with most knives. It is inexpensive enough that you could get a kydex sheath without breaking the bank. The powder coat finish is well applied, but once it starts to wear, I will probably remove the scales and strip the knife down to bare metal. That should look interesting. The handle scales are quite grippy, but don't seem to snag, which is a good thing.Overall, I like this little knife very much and I am happy that it is so affordable.
