Cold Steel
Introducing the Micro Recon 1's. With a 2 inch blade they share most of the features of their larger counterparts. The only differences are the handle slabs are made of Griv-Ex style G-10, and the pocket clip has been replaced with a small key ring.

Recon 1® Series

Cold Steel is famous for raising the bar in the knife industry and our Recon 1® tactical folders are setting a standard that's hard to beat. Why? Because they are as tough as nails and will cut like a chain saw!

With a 2 inch blade, they share most of the features of their larger counterparts. The only differences are the handle slabs are made of G-10 Griv-Ex™ Style, and the pocket clip has been replaced with a small key ring. Every facet of their construction has been over engineered to make them as strong, durable and effective as humanly possible. The blades are made out of imported Japanese AUS 8A stainless steel that's been vacuum heat treated and sub-zero quenched and the handles feature G-10 laminate scales artfully contoured and scalloped for a terrific non slip grip. Plus, they are held together by the latest in high strength mechanical fasteners and further anchored by a 6061 heat-treated spacer. To complement their super tough blades and handles they're equipped with our revolutionary Tri-Ad lock™ , which practically precludes lock failure.

To complement their tactical mission we have given each blade a tough, black, Tuff-Ex™ finish. Our testing has shown this coating offers three major advantages for tactical blades. First, it helps the blade to resist rust. Second, it eliminates glare and light reflections, which may give its user away. And third, it's a superior lubricant, which causes the blade to slip through even tough material with markedly less friction. This means you can cut deeper and far longer than with a non-Tuff-Ex™ coated blade. What's more its small size doesn't abrade or irritate the palm under protracted use.

Micro Tri-Ad Awesomness
I rotate a dozen or so other larger blade knives, but this little guy rides along everyday, the epitome of an everyday carry knife. Small, super lightweight, good blade Steel, came super Sharp and great locking mechanism. In hand this knife feels about twice its size. The two-finger choiles really enable you to have a secure grip on this tiny knife. Nobody ever bats an eye when you pull this out of your pocket for a cutting to ask. Completely maintainable, just like all other Cold Steel Knives, you can disassemble to clean and reassemble with ease. The blades Steel is more than adequate for a knife this size. The aus8a cold steel uses takes and holds a great Edge.

Great little knife.
Use as a utility knife. Handy to use when a little pocket knife is needed. Keeps it's edge well, requiring very little edge maintenance. Great knife.

Did not like it sending it back
This is not a critique on KnifeCenter as they always do such a great job. In fact, even though I am returning this one I purchased a different one I rec'd today. The knife was not at all sharp although the blade looked great in black. What I most disliked was the handle material. It was or felt too lite for the knife. It felt like a sugar cookie. There was no smooth edge around the body so the checkering felt rough and uncomfortable to hold. So, these three things deserved a rejection.I purchased a small SOG folder prior to this one and loved it. I purchased a Bear & Son to replace it.
