Description
CS88SCFD: 88SCFD Heavy Duty Sword Cane
Cold Steel

We have been intrigued with the potential of sword canes ever since Major Morris Wright used one to grievously injure Jim Bowie in their famous fight on the Vidalia Sand Bar so many years ago. There are few weapons that can be put into action faster than our sword canes. Just give the handle a firm tug and the blade will literally leap into your hand!

Heavy Duty Sword Cane - Aluminum Shaft
Our design concept for the Heavy Sword Cane was to make a cane that offered significant support, and be stylish enough so that it didn't look like a stodgy piece of medical equipment. The result is a very appealing cane with an extra strong partial crook handle made from Grivory, with a black, aluminum shaft that's 2mm thick and heat-treated for strength. The shaft is handsomely tapered and capped with a thick rubber ferrule for better traction on slick, icy sidewalks or uneven terrain. The concealed sword is easily released by a hard, quick tug on the handle to break the suction of its friction lock. It's an extremely formidable sword too, made from stainless steel, a little over 24" in length and 5.5mm thick. It's sturdy enough for both cutting and thrusting, with one long cutting edge, a strong sharp point, and a fully sharpened back edge. It's more than enough to take down any attacker, and the heavy aluminum shaft of your cane makes a fine weak hand parrying weapon and a frightfully effective bludgeon in its own right.

Two years and still great
I've had mine for over 2 years, I've wore out the tip and better figure a new one before the ice and snow up in Canada. I live in bear country in the north, l had another bear charge me this summer again, l also have cougars around coyotes (no big deal them) Anyway considering the dog put the run on the bear this cane is a great equalizer if it wasn't close. I use a steel to,sharpen it every week wipe the blade with a bit of oil, l can do a paper cut test with it. Thanks Cold Steel, Greetings from frosty Canada

VERY POOR DESIGN
I've only have my sword cane for about two hours and when I twisted my torso to stretch my lower back the blade came flying out of the sheath and almost killed my cat. If you trip or fall the handle could easily snag onto something and the blade is gonna slide out and kill you. Someone needs to add a locking mechanism into the handle to stop it from sliding so easily. Not to mention that the handle is made out of plastic and will probably break off in your hand. It's only a matter of time before you hurt yourself with it.
