Factor Equipment FB001 BIT Flipper 1.85" S35VN Satin Blade, Blue/Gold Titanium Handles
Factor Equipment's dual-colored titanium BIT knife is a uniquely hand-crafted gentlemen’s knife. Built to the same exacting standards of their larger knives, this 2.5" multi-colored titanium body holds a striking 1.85" drop-point blade built from CPM-S35VN premium steel with a satin finish. The handle goes through an elaborate, three-step anodizing process to create the beautiful blue and gold multi-toned finish. The knife’s first-class ceramic ball bearing system efficiently and accurately launches the blade to the open position and locks firmly into place with to its titanium frame lock. You can quickly close and store in your pocket with a gold titanium pocket clip. The small nature of this knife will capture your interest, but the premium materials and finishes will make you a proud owner.
CPM-S35VN (Crucible Industries)
CPM-S35VN is one of the most coveted knife steels in today’s premier and custom knives. Designed and developed in cooperation by one of the best custom knife makers in the US and released to the tool and knife community in his honored knives; this steel offers great edge retention, toughness, stain resistance and still easy to sharpen.
A martensitic stainless steel designed to offer improved toughness over Crucible's S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM-S30V. Its chemistry has been rebalanced so that it forms some niobium carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides. Substituting niobium carbides for some of the vanadium carbides makes CPM-S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM-S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM-S35VN’s improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. Because both vanadium and niobium car bides are harder and more effective than chromium carbides in providing wear resistance, the CPM stainless blade steels offer improved edge retention over conventional high chromium steels such as 440C and D2.
The CPM process produces very homogeneous, high-quality steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grind ability, and toughness compared to steels produced by conventional melting practices.
Factor Equipment uses titanium in many of their handles, clips, and liner and frame locking materials. They value it for three main advantages: Strength, appearance, and light weight. When combining the full formula of those three advantages, it results in what they believe is the best way to encapsulate and support their most premium folders.

Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
A tougher steel than S30V, it retains the excellent corrosive properties and ability to take an edge, but improves on the ability to hold that edge.
A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.
