Pros: Blade Sharpness, Lock Type, Overall Quality, Handle Feel, Weight, Handle Material, None
Cons: Handle Material, Blade Material, Ease of Opening, Lock Ease of Use
Heavy and Hefty
Heavy weight and sturdy, the stone wash finish compliments it's rugged aesthetic appeal. The long handle of the flatiron gives it better control and the cleaver shape and thickness of the blades back allows the user to apply pressure to the front of the blade without as much risk of cutting yourself as you would on a tanto, clip, drop point and gut hook. I really enjoy the finger nook in the blade it allows me to cut with precision. Really tight locking mechanism makes it nearly impossible to open and close with one hand. The hole in the blade, for opening and closing the knife, isn't very efficient. I like frame locks but this one is too firm and requires both hands to unlock in order to close.
