Jake Hoback Custom Knives
When it comes to knives as an art form, Jake Hoback is one of our favorite custom makers here at KnifeCenter, and the Kwaiback is his signature design. Pulling out all the stops, this UHEP KnifeCenter Exclusive features a custom Bedform milled finish and the same amazing feel as his custom versions at a great price!
Jake was adamant that the UHEP (Ultra High-End Production) Kwaiback Mk4 flipper would rival his customs for fit, finish, materials, and quality. His machine shop matched and assembled the knives exactly as he would in his own shop because he was there with them every step of the way to show them how he expected it to be done. As a final touch, each knife is finished and tuned by Jake himself.
The Kwaiback was designed to look great and be easy to carry and use. The titanium frame is beefy but designed for your pocket, specifically angled make it easier to get your hands in while the knife is clipped in place and the blade nestles completely into the frame when closed, with the only protrusion being the flipper tab.
Featured on this KnifeCenter Exclusive is Jake's Bedform milled finish, which is subtle, but adds some extra flair and a little more grip. The frame also features milled pockets on the underside to remove some weight, and a replaceable lockbar insert for consistent lockup over the life of the Kwaiback.
The pivot of the knife features Jake's signature Hoback Roller Detent, ensuring smooth and lightning fast action. This design puts a rolling ball into the detent which drastically reduces the friction while the blade is moving for better action. The blade itself is trailing tanto point in CTS-XHP that is sandblasted, then stonewashed for an extra dose of style. The final touch? A matching finish pocket clip with Jake's signature axe cutout.
A Bedform is the result of bed material being moved by fluid flow. The perfect examples are the ripples and dunes on the bed of a river. Bedforms are often preserved in the fossil record, and these striking features are what inspired the Bedform finish on these KnifeCenter Exclusive Kwaiback Mk4 knives.
The finish is a culmination of several years of Jake's effort to create an elegant, hard-working finish for his knives. He has found the Bedform finish to add a great deal of grip while working with the knife, while not causing hotspots in the hand. The UHEP Kwaiback is made with hard work in mind, so the Bedform finish is perfect for it and is only available from the KnifeCenter.

Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
A nonferrous metal, it's prized for its high strength to weight ratio and is often used on higher end knives.
