KS1334: 1334 Spoiler
Kershaw Knives
With a blade length of 3.75 inches, the Kershaw 1334 Spoiler is a full-size assisted flipper knife featuring a stonewashed tanto blade and black G10 handles. The 1.25" jimping on the spine of the blade allows you to choke up on the blade for more precise, controlled cuts. The knife opens quickly and easily with SpeedSafe assisted opening and the built-in flipper. The G10 handles are extremely durable and textured for added grip. The 1334 Spoiler has a reversible, tip-up pocket clip and dual black thumb studs. The Spoiler is a great choice for anyone looking for a full-size, affordable pocket knife for everyday carry.
  • Flipper - May be used on either manual or assisted opening knives. The "flipper" is a protrusion on the back of the blade that the user can pull back on, or flip, in order to move the blade easily out of the handle.
  • SpeedSafe - Assists you to open any SpeedSafe knife quickly and easily with a manual push on the thumb stud or pull back on the flipper; built into many Kershaw best sellers.
  • Liner Lock - Locks the blade open during use; one side of the knife's steel "liner," the steel plate to which the handle scales are attached, moves into position behind the blade to securely lock it open.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Handle Feel, Overall Quality, Pocket Clip, Ease of Opening, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material
Cons: None
Kershaw Spoiler: Simply the best for the money
For $20, it is a great EDC+. I have had mine for close to a year with no problems. It is big and meaty, but heck yes! Good for bigger hands. This is a medium duty knife, not meant for digging trenches. The steel holds a very nice edge for a long time and is easily sharpened. I use mine for cutting up boxes, cloth, and light plastics like tubing. Cuts through like butter. Take an oil rag to wipe down and most scuff marks come right off. All mechanisms work smoothly, and locks tight. And for $20, if you lose another with no problem. Those reviews that rag this knife I can only guess they got a lemon in the bunch. It happens. Return for a replacement, simple. I have several Kershaw knives and all are excellent and worth the money.

Pros: Pocket Clip, Overall Quality, Handle Feel, Weight, Ease of Opening, Lock Type
Cons: None
This is a larger knife, yet not to heavy to carry clipped on your pocket. I'm a Kershaw fan, and I really like this one.

Works fine after a little tweeking
I usually put medium blue loctite of the screw threads of my knives, and I did on the two Kershaw Spoilers I bought here. I had to work some to get the blades re-centered, which may frustrate some if they do not have the process down. It involves loosening the pivot and scales, moving the blade (toward where you want it to move when closed, away from where you want it moved when open) and holding the blade while tightening the scales. Also, either cover the blade or wear protective gloves. Anyway, my Kershaw Spoilers are perfectly centered, open and close easily and lock open solid with no blade play in any direction.Lock engagement is early and solid.I have medium large hands and the ergonomics are excellent for all grips. The knife depends on the speed safe for detent, and the ball on the lock does not engage a hole in the blade. I don't remember if I saw a hole when I had it apart. That means it must stay assisted. My knives will not shake open. The assisted open is not very snappy, but the lock engages each time. I prefer the thumb stud over the flipper for speed. The blade is hollow ground except for the tip, which is strengthened with a flat grind. The liners are thick and the standoffs are wide hour glass shaped. The G10 scales are textured, but not a pocket destroyer. The pocket clip is reversible for right/left tip up, but it does not grab my pocket very securely.. it is adequate and no more (more an issue with the scales than the clip).
