The PITS (Pie in the Sky) Folder is an expression of British knifemaker Mike Read's popular non-locking folder. Designed as a tough, hard-use folding knife that complies with strict British knife laws, it features a broad clip-point blade flat ground from N690Co steel. Its handle scales are precision machined from solid titanium, skeletonized to reduce weight, bead blasted to increase grip texture and color anodized bright blue. The scales also feature integral split spring arms that power the knife's unique slipjoint mechanism. This mechanism, along with the blade's prominent lower guard, help prevent accidental closure during use. A reversible deep-pocket wire clip provides left or right-side tip-up carry and, together with the blade's Trademark Round Hole makes one-handed carry and operation of the PITS Folder completely ambidextrous.

Cons: Blade Sharpness, None
Untraditionally excellent
I was looking for a knife I could get a solid grip on, have a nice broad heavy duty blade, and not a locking blade. I found it.Minuses - did not arrive as sharp as I am used to. It was almost as if it had been used. The edge was not super even. The lack of razor sharpness, while not something I expected from Spyderco, was easily fixed. The poorly applied bevel was not happy-making. Again, fixable. But it should not have required fixing. Also there is no half stop. Not a deal breaker since it is not a conventional design that will bite. It's a little odd if you've been using traditional slip joints. Just remember - this is not a traditional slip joint.Pluses - now we're talking. The knife uses the usual VG10. I am a fan of this stuff. Easily sharped, holds an edge reasonably well. I like it a lot. The handle looks odd but I find it very comfortable. It's also very flat, So it rides in the pocket easily. The spring bar on the back snaps into the detent and holds the blade very well but breaks away with a firm press against your leg and closes easily. The blade is broad and thick. Finish is superb. I don't have the problem some seem to with an off-center blade. All in all I am very happy with this thing. And for the price it's a steal. Grab one before the supply dries up.

Quality UK legal knife
Have been trying to get a nice knife that does not attract police attention here in the uk. Unable to find that I looked to the usa. This is a really nice quality and interesting knife. The finish on the handle is a really nice mat blue. The blade is not centred unfortunately but this is a minor issue. Dealing with the knife centre was easy and stress free.If you have a need for a non locking knife this is a great choice.
