SP81GPCW2: C81GPCW2 Paramilitary 2 Smooth G10, KnifeCenter Exclusive
Spyderco

This unique expression of the Paramilitary 2 is exclusively at the KnifeCenter and offers one of Spyderco's most popular models in a distinctive and highly collectible format.

The defining feature of this elite Paramilitary 2 is its blade, which is precision machined from CPM-CruWear—an air-hardening tool steel specially formulated to offer both superior wear resistance and toughness. Created by Crucible Industries, CruWear's unique alloy composition allows it to excel in applications that require greater wear resistance than D2, more toughness than M2 high-speed steel, or both. The CruWear used in the blade of this knife is further enhanced by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process, which ensures an ultra-fine, highly homogeneous grain structure that maximizes the performance potential of the steel. In a knife blade, that translates to amazing toughness and the ability to take and hold an outstanding edge.

Proudly featuring a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole for swift, ambidextrous, one-handed opening, the PlainEdge blade of this knife is full-flat ground and satin finished for superior edge geometry and low-friction cutting performance. It is housed in a handle constructed with nested stainless steel liners and smooth black G10 scales. The liners form the foundation of the knife's high-strength Compression Lock mechanism and provide a solid anchor for its four-position hourglass pocket clip, which supports left or right-side tip-up or tip-down carry.

Showcasing a high-performance blade steel and a distinctive handle material, this Exclusive version of the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 is destined to become a highly prized collector's item. KnifeCenter Exclusive Limited Run of 1,200 pieces.

5 Stars for Customer Service
I received the first knife early June. Unfortunately, after flipping the knife open a couple of times, I started to notice something was off. After closer inspection, I noticed that the thumb hole was milled out at a slight angle, creating a hole that was sloped and larger than usual. Sent the original in for a replacement, and I just got it in the mail. This one is spot on. The invoice also included a notification of inspection as well.Love the smooth G-10 scales. They have surprisingly really good traction, but might not be for everyone. I was on the hunt for a CruWear knife to replace a knife I recently sold and this one filled that void.Outstanding exclusive, and even better customer service

Pros: Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness, Ease of Opening, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material, None
Cons: Handle Feel
Great version of the PM2
After all that has been written about the PM2, I decided to get one, and was glad to find this one with the Cruwear blade. Mine, thankfully, came out of the box with a butter-smooth pivot that free-drops the blade when the lock is released, at the expense of a barely perceptible amount of side-to-side play. (I'll adjust the pivot at some point to get rid of that.) No vertical play whatsoever, and the blade is perfectly centered. Build quality overall is what you would expect from Spyderco - great for this price-point. It's really unfortunate that QC didn't catch the units that have issues others have reported, but clearly many are just fine. The only knock against this version is that the matte G10 scales are a bit slicker than I would prefer.

Excellent!
Love the knife. Came perfect, blade very sharp. Grind looks good. Unfortunately had a issue with the first one I bought. Never had this happen before but since I’m a lefty I always have to switch the pocket clip to the opposite side and tip up carry. Well somehow one of the pocket screws literally broke off (the head portion) as I was just about to stop turning. It wasn’t overly tight as I’m very careful especially with a new knife. So had to drill it out which I should of waited on and seen if I could of got it out a other way cause my smallest drill bit was just a mm or so too big and it ended up leaving a bigger hope which was ok cause it was going to be hidden by the clip. But the metal thread lining they put in the G10 to hold the screws so it doesn’t strip I unfortunately took a little piece out.Luckily there was more and I ordered another one immediately because I knew my OCD would drive me insane not only having to carry tip down but with that area I drilled it would of drove me nuts even though it was a relatively small error and no one would probably see it. Still going to salvage that knife. Getting some new pocket clip screws from Spyderco and will buy some new scales for it. Maybe carbon fiber or something down the road. Until then it will sit in its box while I use the new one and wait for that beautiful Orange Rex 45 pre-order to ship. 5 stars still because I feel I just got unlucky and got a very soft screw that somehow made it past QC or I somehow put to much pressure on it which I don’t see how but I’m certainly not perfect. So just a warning to those who buy this CruWear Exclusive be careful with the pocket clip screws.
