Doctor Iki Is In
This is an appropriate tool for me, as my friends refer to me as, “the Dr. Kevorkian of Ichthyology,” as I sometimes fall asleep behind the reel while slip-bobber fishing, and have to disgorge a deeply hooked fish. “Hey Tom, ya practicing, ‘Kill ‘n’ Release,’ there buddy?” (while fish blood runs down my arm). My reply to them is inappropriate here, or may consist of easy to read sign language. Jokes on them. I caught a whole heaping dinner of sleeper perch on my last Northwoods vacation. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Nice, comfortable, and secure handle/grip on this Iki. Svörd should go into the knife business. They seem to know what they‘re doing. The spike should do the trick. No sheath. Guess you could stow it in your tackle box. I’d like to find a way to piggy-back it onto my Spyderco Fish Hunter Salt Fixed. They’d make a perfect fish killin’ combo. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I worked with an old Swedish/American gentleman in the 1970’s, in his father-in-law’s shop. He had immigrated through Ellis Island with his mother at the turn of the 20th Century; his father having come ahead, drained a swamp, and created a farmstead for his family. I learned a great deal about hunting, trapping, fishing, the old ways, and life from this old Swede. He believed in not only iki (though, he didn’t call it that, and his method more brutal), but also of bleeding a fish immediately. It renders the meat whiter, better tasting. To bleed a fish, cut its blood rich gills. Spyderco Fish Hunter Salt Fixed (available at KnifeCenter.com) makes a great knife for that purpose. He was also a big proponent of a beer, or two every day, and afternoon naps. Sage advice, which I believe I will follow at this time. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Thanks, Knife Center, for the speedy delivery, excellent service, and the great cutlery.

Does what it suppose to do
Strong and functional. Easy to clean. Effective as it is suppose to be on fish. Flavor is better when done this way.
