Pros: Handle Material, Balance, Construction, Head Material
Awesome, Amazing Hawk
This is the 7th tomahawk/short axe I've owned, not counting hatchets & bigger axes. They call it a battle axe, but I think of those as long two handed, so I see this more as a heavy tomahawk. I shopped pretty much every high end hawk available & decided to buy this. I'm very happy. It's very solid construction & well designed. It's one solid pc of D2 steel, G10 scales, Kydex sheath w/ quick attach molle clips, & it comes in a hard plastic case. The main edge is sharp & it's one of the longest you'll find on a short axe. The top spike coming off the main edge is very sharp & would do good for jabbing anything. The main spike opposite the main edge is unsharpened & stout for prying on something. The end of the tang is pointed & tapered for prying & has holes for a lanyard. The G10 scales are thick & have just the right texture for grip. The overall design is unique & looks great. The only negative I can say about it is I wish it was longer, but that's true for most hawks, mini axes. IMHO I think it's one of best money can buy.
