EMGOVMULEBT: Government Mule, Black G10 Handles
Emerson Knives
The Government Mule was the workhorse of the US Military for almost 150 years. It moved the army from place to place. All the supplies: food, ammunition, weapons and artillery were dependent on the strength, endurance and dependability of this animal to get from one battlefield to the next. In fact, our ability to wage war rode on the back of a government mule. The Emerson Government Mule fixed blade has many of those same attributes. It is strong, rugged and dependable. Constructed of thick, battle proven 154CM steel, nearly 0.20" thick. It features a combat ready, bullnose, spear point blade that is every bit as tough as it looks. The handles are made of black dimpled G10 that are securely bolted with industrial strength hardware. Best of all, it's an Emerson design with legendary "Emerson Ergonomics" that's everything you've come to expect from Emerson Knives. This knife isn't just a workhorse, it's a Government Mule.

The Government Mule make for the ultimate outdoorsman's knife. Each comes with its own nylon/Kydex sheath which you can strap to a bag or pack with ease.

You can bet your life
I like Emerson knives, especially the fixed blades (not many available) like the Karambit. The Mule is really a masterpiece. It harkens back to the time of the gritty World Wars, yet utilizes superior steel to the originals. The design is ergonimic and beautiful. Mine came very sharp and ready to go. The sheath is very nice with a large pocket on it (I have a Swiss Army Knife, and Light my Fire ferro rod, and sharpening stone in mine and its fits well; heck, it fits good enough to put more in if I wanted to. It is a bit heavy but that is to be expected with this type of super strong knife.Recommended.

Going to war, a hike or looking for an awesome utility blade?
This is a knife you don't see too many reviews on, and I really wonder why. This is the cleanest looking, yet the baddest, toughest sub 5" blade I've ever used. If you are all about the coolest bells and whistles, you're at the wrong place. That is not what this knife is about. It's a simple, well designed, full tang razor sharp tank. It cuts deep, won't rust and is super easy to sharpen due to emersons "chisel edge". The blade geometry will allow the blade tip to take some good prying. Sir Ernest Emerson said at shot show "I'm not telling you too use it too lift a manhole cover with it, but you probably might be able to do that". I'm saying "I'm telling you to use it to lift a manhole over with, you will be able to do that". Cons? Edge retention might not be as good as say a strider or some of the other knives with the "super steels". Emerson has some pretty clear philosophies when it comes to their choice of steel, and it's well out there. I personally love 154cm, but everyone is different. Sheath might be a bit old school but it serves its purpose. This knife won't come with any surprises or something unexpected. It's pretty down to business.
