Factor Equipment

This folding knife is ready to be your workhorse on a day-to-day basis. It features great grip capability in its tough G10 handles, a lightning smooth flip opening mechanism, secure liner-lock, and a strong 3.7" blade made of AUS-10 stainless steel. This knife is ready to support all your cutting task whether on the trail, in the woods, or at the work-site.

AUS-10 Steel is a Japanese stainless steel that can be comparable to 440C. It has more vanadium and less chromium than 440C so it is slightly tougher, but also a little less rust resistant. It is a fine steel for a knife that can produce a great edge and have a great combination of toughness and easy to sharpen.

This extremely durable handle is made of layers of fiberglass soaked in resin. Great water proof qualities and tough wear resistance allow this to be one of the most common handles used in knife handles. It is also easy to shape and color allowing for great customization.

Factor Equipment Hardened Flipper
Flipping action is all you could ask of a budget knife and indeed, it puts many flipper knives at over twice the price to shame. Opening is very positive regardless of what flipping technique you prefer, and there is no need for a "wrist flick" to assist deployment (and the ceramic ball bearing pivot can probably be credited for that).Overall workmanship is very fine, with the AUS-10 blade nicely centered in the G10-scaled steel handle. Plunge grinds are also nicely symmetrical. Be aware that the steel liners are thick and not skeletonized in any way. This accounts for the moderately hefty 6.4 oz. weight. One other consideration: the blade pivot uses a proprietary driver which is not included. I'll note that AUS-10 steel is mostly found in better-quality Japanese kitchen knives these days. I like that Factor Equipment chose it for the Hardened model as it gives customers who may be curious about this alloy a pocket knife platform to play with. If you're seeking a high quality overbuilt flipper knife at a bargain price, this is one to consider.
