Cons: Blade Sharpness, None
Love Gerbers EDC's.
Been a big Gerber fan for years, always appreciated the style, engineered layout and general quality of their knives. Im not completely sold on this Sumo though. At the onset one thing I noticed was the blade was not as sharp as most knives I have ordered, including Gerbers. And after a days use I found the knife to suffer a good cutting edge. It just didnt "feel" like a Gerber at the end of the day. I'll take it to stone and see if I cant improve on that and bring the Sumo back to life. Other then that, I like the style, and the "feel", it was a little larger then I had anticipated but better too much then not enough!

Sumo me!
I love this freaking knife! It is a whale of a knife with a big old blade. Try to get you fidget on with this monster! It fills the hand and it feels good. Well made at that.

Bravo, Gerber!
I was expecting to be let down as most of the Gerber knives I've purchased always had something wrong with them. But I was not only surprised by the Sumo when I took it out of the packaging, I was overjoyed. I couldn't believe the quality of it for the $37 price tag. It truly is a poor man's Benchmade. A non-knife person wouldn't know the difference. I know the steel snobs will scoff at the 7Cr17MoV, but they'll be missing out on the best budget knife to come out this year hands down. After fidgeting with it all day, it's already broken in nicely. The new Gerber packaging it came in was also impressive. I really hope Gerber stays in this direction they're going. I haven't been this excited over one of their knives, well, never. I hope a smaller version with a 3 inch blade is in the works. Thank you, Gerber. Keep up the great work.
