Folding knife

The Dokka knife is a classic all-purpose folding knife and in fact the first Helle designed folding knife ever produced. It has a beautiful curly birch handle hiding the integrated steel liners. It is also one of a kind since it has the unique triple laminated stainless steel blade made by Helle.

The Dokka comes with a genuine leather pouch with an integrated belt loop.

Helle knives are designed to retain their sharpness as a lifelong outdoors companion. But it is still important to take care of your knife and its sheath.

The Handle. Dry the handle with a soft cloth if wet and wax occasionally.

The Sheath. The leather needs to be impregnated occasionally with colourless impregnation agent (grease or wax) to keep supple. Dry the sheath carefully in room temperature if it becomes wet.

The Blade. Wipe the blade with a soft cloth if wet and treat with grease occasionally.

Use a diamond tool or a wet stone for sharpening. Place the knife bevel flat to the sharpening tool and work the entire blade. Work one side until you can feel a slight burr on the opposite side. Switch side and repeat the procedure until you feel the burr on the first side. You have now established an edge.

Remove the burr by stroking the blade gently over the sharpening surface on both sides, as if cutting very thin slices. Keep the bevel flat towards the sharpener and move from side to side until the burr is gone.

If the blade is very dull or damaged, use a fine-grained grindstone and plenty of water and sharpen until you have a raw edge. Use much cooling liquid and never sharpen on a dry stone. A hot-ground edge looses its heat treatment and ruins the blade.

Wood Handles
Wood Handles Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.
Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to Kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
Lockback The lockback system has been used for many decades. It can usually be found on the knife spine and it provides a strong lockup that will wear well.

Simply Perfect!
I love camping and started bushcrafting. However I usually carry a large knife and it was strange to me to carry a smaller bushcraft knife even though it's the perfect knife to use. I don't use an axe or saw but a large knife and machete. This is perfect because I can do all of the bushcrafting chores, with the exception of batoning. I have my large knife for that. It is super sharp, a very comfortable handle, and the locking blade is rock solid. I would compare this knife to any high end fixed blade bushcraft knife and this would come out on top. But since it is compact when folded and put away in it very nice sheath, it is out of the way. I am highly recommending this knife and this comes from someone that has a very large collection of high quality knives that are USED and not put in a drawer.

Just what I was looking for.
I purchased this knife because I wanted a scandi folder. Folders with scandi grinds are few and far between. The few that exist really have a secondary bevel and are not true scandi but fall more under modified saber grinds. The fit and finish of the item I received is without flaw. Excellent craftmanship and quality. The sheath is also of extremely high quality. Large and solid in hand. No blade play. Firm lockup. In terms of performance and cutting ability, if you have used Mora knives, you will pretty much find a clone in terms of overall ability and use. Outside of price, the difference between this knfie and a Mora is : #1 -- The Dokka is a folder and #2 The overall aesthetics and craftmanship are in a different universe. So if neither of the above is of any interest, you would be better served with a Mora and saving some money. This is a large and somewhat bulky folder so if EDC is your goal, there are better options. If you want a tacticool knife with wood scales, there are much better options. But if you want a companion folder to a dedicated fixed bushcraft knife, I can't think of anything better. The blade makes quick work of wood of all hardness and variety. I wouldn't baton five-inch logs but it is great for mild to moderate tasks and slices bark and shavings effortlessly. Superb for wood carving and general woodwork tasks. I could also see this knife as a general all-purpose hunter. It would make quick work of field dressing tasks IMO.
