Kizer Cutlery
The Kizer Splinter flipper is a sleek, lightweight gentleman's knife brought to you by a collaboration between Kizer and TomCat Knives. The handles are made from G10 with a subtle textured pattern that is not only great to look at but provides outstanding grip. The compact design of the knife and ambidextrous tip-up pocket clip allows it to easily fit in your pocket and forget about until needed. The blade is crafted from Bohler N690 stainless steel with a stonewashed finish for a rugged and worn-in look. N690 is an Austrian steel with adequate hardness and superb corrosion resistance, making it perfect for use in marine environments. This flipper features a liner lock, reversible tip-up pocket clip, and small lanyard hole.

Kizer uses high-tech wire EDM machines to cut the parts. This method is slower than laser or water jet but Kizer feels quality is worth the wait. Each component in Kizer knives is precision machined and engineered to the finest tolerances. The final fit, finish, action, and sharpness of each knife is achieved entirely by hand, employing the irreplaceable craftsmanship developed by generations of cutlery masters. Dedicated craftsman honoring the long-term goal of making the best knives possible is what Kizer brings to you.

Vanguard Series

The Vanguard Series brings excellent value to high-quality designs. Since the start of Kizer Cutlery, they have focused on the high end of the knife market with their impeccable quality and premium materials. This has earned them a place in the hearts of their fans. To increase the accessibility of Kizer brand products, they took the designs of the Bladesmith and Prime Series, and while keeping the quality at the same high level, re-forged them using materials that bring extra value for the money spent. Kizer uses only materials that have stellar performance, such as VG10 or N690 for the blades and G10 or stainless steel for the handles. This way, Kizer products are available at all budget levels but still maintain that incredible quality of construction.
Tools share a common goal and purpose. That purpose is performance, reliable to the end. Kizer brings you the Vanguard Series created with the purpose of distilling the essence of the Bladesmith and Prime Series into tools that excel in being used. This may not be your only knife, but this will be the knife you carry and use every day!

Pros: Lock Type, Pocket Clip, Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, Handle Material, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Overall Quality
Cons: Ease of Opening, None
Superb Knife with One Fault
Like smooth movement of the blade opening and closing. Balance leans slighly backwards, which is OK. Handle weight heavier than Benchmark Osbourne 940-1, which is one of my favorites; but, gives the knife a feeling of substance. Hand fits nicely into handle. Using knife is like pointing your finger. Finger cutting sharp at first use.One Problem, if known before I would not purchase: Unable to leverage extension above handle to flip-open. Have to open using left hand, holding knife in right hand.Excellent under-$100 knife, except for opening issue.

Nice but the dullest knife I’ve ever purchased.
This will be an EDC for me. Good size and weight. Slim in a slightly elegant way. Very good fit and finish. However, definitely the dullest knife out of the box I’ve ever purchased.
