Great EDC from Benchmade

I've carried the 530 Pardue for about 4 yrs. This new model maintains the thin profile and light weight, while taking things up a step. Better quality blade steel. And though very similar handle, the bottom curve gives a more secure grip in the hand. Love the Axis lock system. One hand opening and closing always a plus. And the new, shorter clip makes for better deep pocket wear than the 530 did. I'm really happy with this new iteration.

Benchmade 535S - Very Nice

-Excellent steel S30V (haven't used enough yet to dull it). -Very light but reasonably stiff - partial liners in pivot area. -Combo blade has useful serrated area along with pretty good length of plain edge. -AXIS lock works well - my first experience with it. -Clip is black, and allows deep carry - no need to replace it to be low-profile -Handle is long enough and wide enough for all the fingers of my medium hand, and feels pretty good as far as grip and balance. This is replacing my Spyderco Para 3. The P3 is somewhat bigger, quite a bit heavier and stiffer, has better jimping and general gripability, very easy to open with the big hole, and has a shorter plain edge. IMHO it's better for bigger, more rugged use.

Perfect for my needs.

This is a very lightweight knife that is capable of more than you would expect. I wouldn't consider this a bugout knife, even though the name says it is. For a bugout knife I recommend a fixed blade. This is a knife for regular everyday carry.

Benchmade 535S Axis

This is a great carry knife due to its light weight, easy one hand use with the Axis lock, great blade size, shape & metal, and comfortable, grippy handle.
