Great Everyday Knife

Have been using this knife as my daily go-to pocket knife for a few weeks now. I did some research before settling on this knife as an everyday replacement for my Spyderco Harpie. The Spyderco is suprb, just needed to retire it as a memorabilia piece since I used it daily in my LE career. The blade is of outstanding quality and comes shaving sharp from the box. The rubber handle provides a firm grip with the plastic spacer making it easy to slip in a pocket with no friction. The opening mechanism is simple and easy making this on par with any switchblade as far as opening and closing. The Bottle-Opener/Lanyard is nice. The opener performs great on bottles with a bit of practice. There is slight play in the blade when opened, tho the play is very minimum and does not detract from the solid feel of the knife. It does not wobble or feel cheap, just enough play to know you have unrestricted friction with no excess play and a fast opening. The knife rides closed in my pocket with no problems. It does not exude itself and I can not tell I am carrying it when sitting down or walking. I am very pleased with this knife (despite it being made in China) and would recommend it to anyone wanting a reliable pocket clip knife. Cool stuff from Buck. I have used their guarantee before and can tell you they WILL stand behind this knife as do I.

Great value

I bought six of these little jewels to give out as gifts. I wish I bought seven. I bought them so that all of my camping buddies could quickly open a beer for me in case of an emergency. Was impressed on quality at this price.

great knife!

Overall great knife! I love the lock and finger roll assist for quick opening and retracting. Handle is durable and slip resistant. Knife blade is excellent and overall light weight which is good for everday carry. I would have given 5 stars, however the bottle opener is a little undersized and requires more than one pry to open a bottle. Still makes a good gift!

Different but works

I don't usually like serrated edges but in this case, with the sharp fore-edge, the bottle opener, and the serrations, you have a handy little package. I say "little" because this knife feels smaller than you might expect for the blade length, I think because the handle is small compared to the blade. So it's small and light with a lot of capability. One point of personal taste: I prefer thumb opening and closing, but if you do that you need to be careful to keep your other fingers away from the blade, or they'll wrap around the handle and maybe get pinched. So you're better off using the button and your forefinger to open and close; that works easily with one hand and you can keep your fingers away from the blade.

Buck Red Point

The knife was smaller than i expected but it is a good size. Razor sharp out of the box and the serrations are wicked! They rip right throuth cardboard, rope, and cloth very easily. Blade material is ok. It gets sharp after you sharpen it but doesnt retain an edge for more than two weeks. It is easy to open but there is some blade play and the lock does not seem too strong and it takes some getting used to. The handle is very grippy but the rubber starts to peel off after about two months. The pocket clip rides really deep and us very strong. The knife isnt perfect but is still a knife i would reccomend for the price. And dont forget the convience of the bottle opener!

Redpoint

It is a great knife with a sharp blade. The bottle opener is not the best, but I didn't really buy it for that reason.
