Five Years and Still Going Strong
I have had this kukri for a little over five years now, and it has taken everything I have thrown at it with ease. Hardwood, softwood, green wood, blackberry bush... I've split open fresh coconuts with it on the Big Island of Hawai'i... It stays sharp for quite a long time, considering how much abuse I regularly put it through. And then when when it needs resharpened, it is and absolute breeze to do so. Anyone claiming that this kukri does not chop well is very obviously using the tool wrong. You see, you have to be smarter than the wood you are chopping. If you are, then this kukri will easily tackle whatever you throw at it. I've had mine for over five year, and it continues to impress me every time I use it.

Decent machete
Blade shape, weight and balance are great. Blade is a little thinner than a traditional Kukri. Grip is comfortable and easy to hold on to. The sheath is nylon, with a zipper and velcro strap holding the knife in place. It's not a great sheath, but it's solid for the price range. Takes care of overgrown grape vines without a problem.

Disappointing Blade
This thing is supposed to be a kukri style blade, able to chop efficiently. IT DOESN'T. First swing into wood it bounced off, second swing, same. It barely removed any wood at all. Out of box , it was sharp enough. Maybe it will work on green vegetation, not on woody stuff. I am highly bummed on Gerber. Seems all they make is junk now. I am going to re-profile the edge on my worksharp, maybe i can get it to function as intended. I do not recommend Gerber anything. I gave them one more chance, and they failed. The Schrade bolo out does it by a mile out of box. I recommend looking at Schrade or Outdoor Edge Brush Demon for a cheap machete. This Kukri from Gerber sucks
