Good Adventure Knife
I purchased this knife to use on a hunting trip and trusted Helle by a couple of other Helles I own. The knife is light for its size, which was an important consideration for me, as I had to carry other fairly heavy gear. The handle fills, and feels good in my hand, but is not too big for my medium size hand. The handle material is a fine hardwood with nice "figuring" and the overall fit-and-finish of the knife is very good. The knife came very sharp with a factory low secondary bevel which I had to re-shape into a true Scandi in order to make sure it stayed sharp with all the camp tasks anticipated. I did do a lot of skinning, stick sharpening, line cutting and food prep (etc.) which it handled very well. The Sandvik stayed sharp. The sheath held the knife a little shallow and loose and I used a lanyard to hold it in the sheath while travelling. I'm generally a "big knife" guy, but this was just right for this trip. Overall a great knife.
