Pros: Blade Material, Finish, Handle Material, Weight, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
KC sent the wrong model but I'm keeping it, it is a terrific knife
I ordered the OKC Hunt Plus Skinner but I received the Hunt Plus Drop Point. These are new models from OKC for 2017 and shown at the Atlanta Blade Show. The Drop Point came razor sharp and felt good in the hand. It is a thick blade all the way to the point. There is no indication in the KC ad or the paperwork received with the knife of what the steel is other than it is stainless with a HRC of 55-57. It is made in the USA and OKC uses 440A in other models, so it is possible that is the steel. I have another OKC with 440A and it is a pretty good steel. It takes and keeps a good edge and is easy to sharpen. It is not a premium steel but I didn't pay a premium price for the knife. I use my knives and handle material is important to me. These new models are rubberized full tang and feel great in wet conditions. The sheath works but I will likely get a leather one, just my preference. This is an excellent new model, I recommend it highly. At this price I plan to order a few more for gifts. I have ordered several knives from KC with no issues and this mixup may have been a "blessing in disguise". Great service from the USPS, 2 days from the East Coast to Ca. I am a satisfied customer...again.
