Rock Solid Beast
This knife integrates every key element that I was hoping for in a solid, durable EDC blade. 3.55 inches of S35VN and the blade stock is incredibly beefy - not too heavy, but a serious piece of equipment. The stonewash is incredible; on the handle scales, you would be hard-pressed to ever see a scratch and the blade stonewash is even as well. The flipping action is quick and immediate with the Orb pivot - the only possible downside is that the clip is not deep pocket if that is important to you. I find that it still allows for some purchase on the end of the handle scale when drawing from your pocket, so, not a negative in my opinion. 5 Stars.

Drop shut
I own 50 plus knives most higher price point than this without being on sale. My first drop shut from the lock that isn't a button lock. Freaking awesome, getting the murdered out stone wash tanto. Oh my, knife joy folks. David

Are you kidding me?
My wife and I have been collecting for about two years. We try to read the reviews and watch YouTube before we buy. This was our first Quartermaster and while the reviews were mixed, the price point was good for the materials. The wife liked the handle and I liked the blade, so we went for it. Those other reviewers must have been on crack! Out of the box, this thing flips better than most of my Brous Blades and it's hair popping sharp! I also like that you can flip it or "flick" it open. It makes it even harder to put down. It's big and beefy and perfectly balanced. I don't have big hands and it fits mine without any hotspots. When I opened the box, I actually laughed at what it came with. Just a great over all purchase and we now have a new favorite that I will carry on the weekend.

This Knife Should Get More Attention!
I have no idea why this knife has not attracted more attention. Seems that Hinderer, Hoback, Reeves, they get all the attention and praise. This knife is nothing short of a masterpiece. No joke. Flipping action is steller. Flipping tab has a perfect design. Disassembly is just as easy as a Hoback Kwaiback. Solid build, simple design, brilliant. On first look, one might think why did they not put in another standoff to strengthen the handle/scales a bit more? However, why? Whose going to destroy two solid bars of titanium and it is one less screw to take it when taking care of the knife. I cannot find a single complaint with this knife. If I tried, I might suggest the blade is just a tad thick for slicing. However, although my Spyderco paramilitary 2 is a perfect slicer, it is not robust enough to break open a coconut in Hawaii, and this knife could do it easily! Did I mention 'masterpiece'?

A quality high durability flipper
I have owned many flip style knives. My previous edc knife was the Lee Williams design by Kershaw, an exceptional budget knife that has been through quite a bit of abuse for well over 12 years. I still love that knife, but have since replaced it with a CRKT. That knife was a huge disappointment after only a few days. So I ended up on a mission to buy a high quality knife and after looking at a ZT and the QTRMSTR, I decided to give the QTRMSTR a shot. And let me tell you, this knife is the one. The spine is huge at .197" and lighter than I would expect from such a thick blade. It came out of the box razor sharp, turning a small spot on my arm as smooth as a baby's butt. The blade is very rigid open and does not wobble at all due to the sturdy pivot and the two guide studs on either side of the pivot and I am certain it will hold up to the most demanding of tasks. The bottom spacer provides a counterbalance to the heavy blade on a titanium grip as well as provide a little character to a simple design. This is not an assisted open, yet the action is very smooth and it does not take much to open. Wrist flick not necessary. I would guess that the mass of the blade provides the momentum necessary. I would recommend this knife to anyone who has grown tired of the poor quality budget knives and looking for something more American. For new to knives people and collectors. This will not disappoint. I will buy another in black.

Maybe there's still hope
The first Quartermaster I bought was an QSE 6xlstt which had a lot of lock movement after it was opened and wasn't very sharp out of the box. This one was much better showing almost no lock movement and was extremely sharp. Could use a stronger detent in my opinion, but still opens easily with no wrist flick from any position. This one feels more balanced in the hand to me with no hot spots. I really want to like Quartermaster because I like some of their designs, but I still have some doubts. I think they need to keep an eye on their quality control. Thanks to Knife Center for the great price on this one!
